WINE IS FOOD ...
We like to compete in competitions where our creative winemaking / culinology skills will be put to the test. Where the wine is distinguished as a culinary master piece. Most wineries only enter competitions where the wine is judged on how well it is made and they give out a million golds, silvers, bronzes, etc. Once in a rare while we will enter one of these generic competitions just for the fun of it and to give ourselves exposure in a new part of the country. The culinary competitions we prefer to enter give out 1 first place, 1 second place, and 1 third place in each category. These are competitions that judge the wine as a gourmet food not just as a beverage.
Just to see why we take the generic competitions with a grain of salt, take a look at this year's results!
